I wondering if anyone could help with this beautiful piece I have .
    It's a cherub , and I'm not sure if it's porcelain or ceramic .
It is signed on the back Italy with a number which looks like 1071.
I would like to know what the date is ??? And just generally a bit more information. It's a beautiful piece.

Normally cherubs have wings. I'd be inclined to think it depicts The Christ Child. Perhaps from a wall hanging nativity display.

Hard to tell in your first picture but I thought the blue around the head looked like a halo.

Looks like there is a fold in the blue, so it could be another piece of fabric?

When I look at the picture, the lower left of the 'halo' appears to be tipped with gold paint. Perhaps @Rita will come back & let us know for sure.

Is the fabric hanger original in your opinion? What type of fabric is it made of?

    I just re-read this, it isn't very clear.:sorry: I didn't mean actual fabric, but a carved cloth.

Hi. There is no cloth or fabric at all.
The whole piece is made from porcelain .
It's a beautiful piece . Im just wondering if anyone know the age of even the maker .
    It's defiantly Itailian.

So what is that pink tie looped on the back? Here. Below the word "Italy."
