BEASTIE BOYS /THANK YOU /CLEAN NEEDLES PAINTING?

I found this at a local thrift store - ANY ideas? I googled Beastie Boys (I believe that's the band actor Mark Wahlberg got his start in?) & needle exchange programs but didn't find anything.
Any ideas on this piece?

Sorry, Journey, but NO WAY was Mark Wahlberg in the Beastie Boys! (He was in New Kids on the Block for a brief time, with his older brother, Donnie.)

Beastie Boys music was very different from New Kids on the Block!

 

p.s. The needle exchange bit could have something to do with this:

We ask the artists that participate in the project to recommend charities from where they live or where they grew up. So there's a very personal relationship. Obviously we also vet those organizations to make sure they're totally legit, but it serves a really interesting purpose. The first time with did this was with the No Alternative project and we had the Beastie Boys saying, "Wow, we do charity stuff all the time and this is the first time anyone actually asked us where we wanted the money to go." The organization the Beastie Boys recommended was the needle exchange program in L.A, and traditionally needle exchange programs had been hard to fund.

PS I said I THINK that's where Mark started! (cop out I know lol)

 

Mark Walberg started in Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch . The Beastie Boys are in a completely different genre (and were genius!). It saddens me that people dont know this. God Im old!
