This one, I think, looks & feels like something modern and from somewhere in Asia. Then again, I have a hard time tying my shoes let alone offering a coherent description on an object. :)

hold the phone...... this could be the kicker...... Paiute....perhaps

single rod...open weave , left to right climbing stitch .....

    Washoe ...is similar.....

to be fair...I get these puppies mixed up...and have never held one....
the base should tell the difference..... hopefully...

but unless I've become feeble in my old age....you've got a very nice 1st nations early 1900's basket there.........

King-sized thrift store jackpot-WOW ! My local GW would've either put these 4 baskets on Ebay or tossed 'em into the compacter.

I had never seen one of these, and had to do some research. But I think probably Washoe, as komo suggested. The technique is called single rod gap stitch. Compare with this one sold at Bonhams for $$$, but this one had provenance saying it was purchased directly from Dat-so-la-lee, a very famous weaver.

well , when the historians show her work....they don't show this...... they show brilliant geometrics on baskets so tight they hold water..
