Hi there, I just acquired a pair of barstools and would appreciate any help to identify approximate age, manufacturer, and value. They are real wood, genuine leather, and seem to have a metal protector on the footrest. Very nice woodwork throughout the piece. Minor wear to the leather and a few chips to the wood, but overall great condition! No identifiable manufacturer. Thank you in advance for your help, Erin
Hi Erin, My eldest daughter is named Erin ... . The barstools are very nice indeed and WELCOME to Antiquers !!! ... Joy.
Thank you to everyone for the help! Can you believe someone left these outside an apartment complex with a ‘Free’ sign?? I’m hoping to clean them up a bit (though they don’t need much TLC) and resell them. I’m grateful for the information, as I had no clue where to start! Would anyone be able to suggest a good price point to post these groovy chairs at? ✌
Those that left them outside must have gotten them for free, because they look pretty classy to me!!! Sounds like if you’re not keeping, you’re going the smart route to find out about them to sell !!!!! And WELCOME to ANTIQUERS as well!!!!!
Value very much depends on where you are and how you intend to sell. Here in my semi-rural Midwest location, you would be very lucky to get $100.00 for the pair at retail. More likely, $60.00 for the pair. This is something I could pick up for as little as $5.00 each at auction, thrift store, or garage sale. Maybe $10-15.00 each from marketplace or craigslist. Your location may do better (or worse).
Thanks for the help, friends! Sold them for $100 to a very sweet couple! Glad they’ll get some more use out of them.
