I picked up this aux fines herbes poster (maybe) at my local thrift. I don't normally buy prints but thought it was kind of interesting. I tried looking to see if I could find another to compare but nothing. All I could could find was books that kind of resembled this. So after no luck I decided to search for nils hogner and saw he was a artist and painted but nothing about prints. So last I decided to type in the address that is below and it led me to a horticulture hall in Boston Mass. So was this hanging in the hall at one time? Thank you for any info!

According to the internet, the Herb Society of America was based in Boston until the 1980s when they moved to Ohio. Yours was a multiple so likely used by Society for some purpose (e.g. fund raising, awareness raising.) Interestingly, the same art was used as the basis for the artist's wife's book on herbs published in 1961.

Designed for a sophisticated audience. Julia Child's Mastering the Art of French Cooking wasn't even published until 1961. The average American wasn't cooking with fines herbes before then.
