I got this at a thrift shop for 5 cents. It looks fairly new to me, and I question whether it's actual Weller - but I know very little about Weller.
Measures 2 1/4 inches tall and 3 1/4 inches wide across the top.
    Thanks!

I don't think there would be much incentive to fake this line of Weller since it is fairly utilitarian. I've seen "Weller" stamped like that on authentic pieces.

Not familiar with this particular line though.

I have one of these custard cups, but in pale green both inside and out and with a slightly different bottom. The clay is "yellow-ish" and there is no double ring effect (as on yours,) although it is not perfectly flat (there is a bit of a dip.) The impressed WELLER mark looks less deep than yours appears to be in the picture, but that may be as much an effect of the red color vs yellow as anything.

There are several active listings on ebay for ones like yours, but I don't know whether that means anything vis. authenticity. There's a statistic mentioned in Lehner's article on Weller that it has been estimated that half their production in the 30's was utilitarian kitchen ware.

It looks very new and the mark doesn't match any of the marks used by Weller Art Pottery. In the 1990s and early 2000s, there was a German cookware maker called Weller, pronounced Veller, that made crockery baking pieces. Perhaps this is one of those?

The more I've looked at this - particularly the mark and the total lack of usage evidence - and compared to online sources for actual older Weller utilitarian items, the more I think yours is that German line FekNeim has brought to our attention. But it was only 50 cents!! Use it with impunity.
