Featured Austrian plate

I picked this up the other day. It's 23cm diameter. Looks to be Austrian or maybe Limoges? Cheers

 

Beautiful plate! Limoges is very unlikely. Almost all Limoges is marked and they didn't use numbers on the bottom. I suspect one number is the pattern number and the other the decoration number. Some plates marked the way yours is are actually English. The overall style, though, looks more Austrian. We'll see what others have to say. Nice find regardless.

 

Yes, that's what threw me -- the numbering looks British, but that type of gilding looks more Continental. The floral decoration looks Limoges or even RS Prussia style, yet that blue-green rim colour is quite different. I like it, but can't place it. Wah.

Gorgeous plate! The gilding on the design reminds me of something, but it's on the tip of my brain and won't come out yet. If I think of it, I'll come back.
