Hi guys, just thought I'd come on and share this auction find I got a while ago. A lovely portrait of an old man, who I believe is by a Portuguese artist called Frederico Abecassis (http://www.abecasis.info/genpt2_i_fred.htm). I don't know exactly who the sitter is, but if I had to guess, I'd say he was likely a family member of the artist (maybe his father?). Feel free to share your thoughts on the painting. :)

It's the best of the images found within that website. It also mentions landscapes, but none are shown. Would have liked to see one.

I see 1905. To me, what looks like a 2 is just the interaction of a different color in the background.

within the link, you can see his father, mother, wife and brother’s portraits, my guess for this painting might be his uncle Henrique (Henry) Nathan Bensaude, from which he inherited from. Or of a second guess, his grandfather, possibly.

    Beautiful portrait, Seppy.
I think if the father in the portrait were to age a little, you would end up with Seppy's portrait. The uncle has a different shape face and nose, and a more gentle look.

It's that down hill slope. Rough on some of us.
