Featured Atterbury Moss Agate Ware with CAKE!

I made a cake for a nice neighbor today and thought that chocolate cake with strawberry cream cheese roses would look nice on green!

a rose by any other name......might not taste as good as those.......

But....

As for the stand and composition.....
it looks like a plastic mold
I don't find the green, brown & pink work well together
and the hard edges of the stand don't go well with the soft edges and smooth swirls of the cake and roses.

Ya ya, I know......I'm a meany....but I see what I see !

maybe I'm just a bit prejudiced but I think the cake would look luscious on a plain paper plate. I do like the juxtaposition of soft and hard lines; but agree that opaque glass can sometimes look a bit plastic in photos.

It makes perfect sense to me that someone with such a gorgeous collection of cake plates/stands would also make absolutely gorgeous cakes to put on top of them!!!

 

Obviously you are not a gardener or you would see that color combination everyday when you looked at the natural world.

What amazes me is that it is perfectly centered as well. within the little squares.

 

if the green was darker, & the brown a little lighter...I might agree with you.
But I don't.
