Asian Wood Thing

    Bought this covered bowl and wondered if it was mismatched. The lid is ridged and fits perfectly. Stands about 4" tall with lid. The opening is about 5 1/5" and the lid has a mark in gold color. The handle for the lid is not magnetic and looks like copper. What was this used for?
