Came across this while mooching, stamped 925 and the beads are solid (stamp may be lying of course). The beads look very specific regionally but I can't put my finger on it although I'm sure I've seen the style somewhere before. Beads are about 1cm by 1.5 cm. Thoughts?

Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan? I'm guessing, of course.

    Finely crafted, very lovely!

Gorgeous, Ce. It could be Israeli Yemenite, @evelyb30 , what do you think?
The smaller beads are new to me, unusual shape.

Thanks, and that jogged my memory, it was Bedouin that I was thinking of.

Yes, related, but these beads are more sophisticated, with more finesse.
I have Israeli Yemenite earrings with beads much like the larger ones in your necklace.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

Are they something you'd polish? And if so, HOW???? Don't most recommend NOT using dips???? Just curious, here! THEY ARE SO NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mine are gilded, so no need to polish, at least not over the last 50 years or so.;)
Ce's beads are blackened in the crevices (not the right word:shame:), so you'd only need to rub the parts that look more silvery. But probably not very often either.

Yep it is right, often called blackening in the UK, if you want to be more technical you can go black oxidised.

I'd just wear them. Problem solved. As to where they came from, I've seen somewhat similar from Mexico, but these look more some sort of Middle Eastern.
