I picked these up as a set although I can't see where they actually belong as a set. They all had spring hangers. There are no marks or stamps. Bowls are not perfectly round. All information greatly appreciated. jap1.jpg jap2.jpg jap3.jpg jap4.jpg jap5.jpg jap9.jpg

The berry bowls appear to be an early Geisha Girl porcelain. Geisha ware is not hard to find but the extra blue in your bowls may make them a little more desirable. Most Geisha dates to the first quarter of the 20th century although production continued until WWII. I think yours fall in the earlier part of that range. Someone should be along who can help you with the larger bowl.

The plate looks newer than the bowls to me. Mid-20th century perhaps (30's-60's?) The colorway is often called Imari, but without marking on the bottom it's hard to say when or by whom made.

    Maybe @Mat can opine.

It is Japanese porcelain, yes, commonly known as, (and typically) Imari ware. Produced in the first quarter of the 20thc., by which time the style had become degenerative. Even though still hand decorated, Imari from this period was in rapid decline as were most Japanese ceramic wares.

Here's a piece from my own collection, produced earlier.

    Hi blooey,
Nice piece. I would give it house room in a second.

Try looking at Meiji period for your plate and see what you think.
