Asian gouache painting questions

I was offered $300 for this but declined as I have not identified it or the value yet.
I know the subject matter, which I won't get into in keeping with the site's rules about religion, but I've so many questions about this piece . . .

Is it indeed a gouache painting? How old is it? Are the writing and seal/stamp Japanese, like I think? What do they say? Who was the artist? What kind of cloth was it painted on?
What's an approximate retail value at market?

Thanks in advance for any opinions. The painting (not including the framing) is roughly 9 x 17.
Also, I did my best zooming in; the painting is under glass, so there are many reflections.

It is Chinese. China has a significant Christian community.
My mother bought a Chinese Christian painting in the same style from a support group for Chinese Christians in the 70s. It wouldn't have been expensive.

Don't worry about the rules about religion. Those apply to discussions, not art. We have a lot of threads about Madonnas, Hindu Gods and Goddesses, etc.
I was thinking of posting some antique rosaries soonish.
