    Hi,
This is something else I've been working on and need help with. I believe this is a chess set, made of bronze, pieces range from 1" to 2 1/2"H. These look similar to Ashanti gold weight figures that I found.
I contacted the chess museum but I guess they are no longer active, the e-mail was returned.
Any ideas on these? Any information appreciated.

Poorly cast, full of porosity, little to no cleanup after casting, small city foundry/independent "crafts" person.

I would call them Akan. Ashanti are a famous subgroup of the Akan, but all Akan make bronzes. The Ashanti are considered by many to be the best.
The set would be of interest to a chess collector.
