Bought this painting this morning at the Wareham, Ma. Historical Society antique show. It's large @ 38"x 26" oil on (made in USA) masonite.
Looks midwest, possibly Indiana, Ohio or Pennsylvania.
    Signature help is much appreciated.

Anund, that painting is absolutely, positively lovely! I would happily hang it in my home.

The setting may be miles & miles away, but it looks so much like places in both New England & NY State that I recall quite fondly !

Quirky, I stared & stared at that sig, but I came up with nothing! Way to go!

I really like it too, it was sitting iconically on the front steps of the Wareham H.S. hall on an easel, within 5 feet of vehicle and pedestrian traffic passing by. I saw it from the car and went straight to it after parking. I was figuring it would be a known artist with a high price tag. I had to do a double take when I saw it was only $45, I just paid the cashier and put in my car.

With the masonite being marked made in U.S.A. I assumed it was American. In his biography it says that he traveled quite a bit but doesn't mention the U.S.. Regardless I am very pleased with owning it.

Bev aka thelmasstuff Colored pencil artist extraordinaire ;)

Perfect example of the difference between a similar factory painting and this - look at the details on the trees in the background on this one. Lovely work.
