I have no idea ... 75,but Wow that’s a very cool piece. I really like it a whole lot. The knowledgeable members will need to see of photo of the back. Also where did you get it? That’s a very distinct signature, hopefully someone will know.

Very interesting i think you might be onto something, i never heard of tempera so looked it up, painted with eggs and very specific look also, fascinating.

Andrew Wyeth is one of my favorite watercolor artists, but he also painted in egg tempera. One of his most well-known paintings is done in that medium:

Don’t kid yourself, the back talks a lot about the painting. The construction can help date it, along with the hardware to hang it. The type/age of wood frame and the canvas or board. Nails, staples etc. etc. etc… combined it all helps date the piece. While I love the painting, the only thing I can gather is that it is post indoor plumbing.

‘when posting ANYTHING, most everyone will be interested in seeing the entire piece, back, bottom, top, sides. Close-ups. It all helps everyone help you. :pompous:

PS, and don’t forget that “Full image” button after uploading. That’s our favorite. :) Oh and add a little light next time taking that picture of the back.:hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

sorry, I tend to ramble on, it comes with age.
    welcome *thumbs up*

It’s also cool that you have history and personal connection with it.

The subject of the painting, Christina, had a degenerative muscular disorder and was unable to walk. She is seen here crawling toward her family farm.
