It doesn't always have to be very old.
I found this bold modernist-looking bracelet a week ago in a 'kringwinkel' (thrift store) for 3€ and I grabbed it as quickly as I could.
It tested as silver and it weighs just under 50 gram.
Its my new favorite piece and I wear it all the time.
Have you ever seen such an unusual clasp? The clasp just consists of two safety clasps you have to attach.
The only thing that looks like it COULD be a mark is on one of the links ends, but I don't have a clue and I can't make heads or tails off it.
What do you think? A crafty artisans work?
Thank you very much for your opinion and have a nice Sunny day!

    Nice find! Arty!!!
I've seen the double security figure 8 before, but not as an only closure system... Always with a tongue in box clasp.
I don't think the mark is an actual one:bucktooth:

Thank you for your comment Kyratango, yes, very unusual closure. Its safe though: I have had the bracelet on for a week now and it stays on.
It can very well not be a mark, I might have just been desperately searching for one.:hilarious:

WOW! I really love that bracelet! Almost has a brutalist look. Great find!

Gorgeous find, Dessert. Could even be Art Deco, some Art Deco pieces look like they could have been made in the 50s or 60s.

Btw, I am not seeing the rough and irregular look of Brutalist, on the contrary.

Hand cast, hand made, artisan work.
I would def call this Brutalist in style.

I see that in it though. It's hand cast, I think one of a kind. Possibly early 1960s.

Brutalist is from the French word 'brut', meaning rough or crude. Brutalist jewellery has an asymmetrical and unfinished look. Dessert's bracelet is smooth and symmetrical, and a very Modernist looking design, although I wouldn't rule out Art Deco.

This is Brutalist, crude looking and lacking symmetry (intentionally):

    Cool piece. I don’t find it brutalist either-more steampunk/industrial.

Dessert, did you check the safety figure 8 clasps for marks? Also on the inside? As you know, those cruel Dutch and French assayers find the strangest places to punch a mark, and I suspect the Belgians can be just as bad.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

    Thanks, Any, for that clarification!!

Any Jewelry, good bet! That was the last place I would check for marks. But unfortunately there weren't any.
Looking for marks is like looking for 'paaseitjes' (chocolates) in the garden for Easter: a real hunt and they are always in the place you least suspected.
My brother in law unearthed a chocolate egg a few months after Easter last year. My kids had skipped to find it apparently.
It wasn't edible anymore unfortunately.
Do our friends from other countries also know the tradition to hide chocolate eggs for Easter?

    Or like archaeology.:rolleyes::joyful:
Something similar happened one year when I was little. Clearly my parents were very good at hiding things.;)

I'd have said Industrial Art Deco or Machine Age Deco right off the bat. ...and hauled that bracelet off so fast ...SCORE! Machine Age pieces weren't as popular here, so we don't see many. One American name was Maida Heatter, better known for chocolate. I found one of her pieces years ago and foolishly sold it.

It's done here in the USA too, the chocolate being enclosed in plastic eggs. Kinder Eggs are a new thing here, and we don't get the good ones; they just charge $$$ like we do!

This bracelet has to be by a Someone
It’s way too fabulous to be anonymous.
