    An uplifting story of a collector who is going to help future generations by providing them with a treasure trove of historic images.

    A university about an hour from me has a massive collection of about 4 million cards and it is a huge draw for researchers. From the late 19th century to the 1970's there was little that didn't find itself on the face of a postcard. Postcards preserve a snapshot in time and although the physical buildings/landscape may no longer exist, the postcards can tell the story.

    His name is Donald Brown & he donated the cards to the University of Maryland.
