IMG_1451.JPG Going through my tin types and was always intrigued by this one. It was labeled "two men in polar gear". Any thoughts on context, rarity and overall appeal?

    Hi,
I think cold country gear but not enough for polar gear. Their ears would be gone in 20 mins.JMHO

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Tintypes are generally each one of a kind. So looking at it that way, they are all rare. I do think it's an appealing image. People might like it for a variety of reasons. i like something about their clothing and their facial expressions.

What's the size of this one?

It's 1/6 plate. They look like they can be a sinister cartoon twosome!

Can you show an image of the back with the writing? They are so obviously foreign looking that I'm surprised the label is in English. I've seen the MacMillan collection at the Provincetown Museum and at Bowdoin and agree that there is no way this is Arctic clothing.

Sorry. I meant the person that sold it to me labeled it as such. No label at all on back
