    There's some pretty decent weights coming out of China. Always were.

    How are they making these things? Machines? Traditional methods? Traditional methods are pretty labor intensive for these results. Some of the other obviously Chinese examples are a lot more elaborate than this.

    My wife got some in CVS for two or three bucks apiece. They were really well done though distinctly Asian.

    Alarmingly they're only a couple/few baby steps away from dead ringer fakes.
    How hard can it be to put a good fine polish on that base? Eh?:cool:

    The labor involved to make these Weights consist of a couple of 9 yr. old kids @ $.07 per hr.

    Not any more. Chinese labour rates have raised massively, which is why so many sweatshops are now in places like Bangladesh. They're also very very antsy about child labour - that's partly because of the one child per family policy. If you only have one, you don't risk it. Fastest growing middle class on the planet.
