I'm not thinking china. I'm betting Italian (murano), based on the aventurine (gold flecks) Polished bottom and rough pontil.

I thought most Murano would have polished pontil?

Nope, not always, sometimes the break may be too deep to effectively polish out, and there were (are) Hundreds of glass makers in Murano, and not all do stuff the same way.

A snail, hm. I don't know. It has small legs on the front, a crown, bulbous sides and a small tail. Those on the top are either eyes or tentacles with eyespots. No shell. Weird creature.

Isn't that a crown on the frogs head? Frog/crown = prince? Get it?

I agree on a few things. It's too good for China. Murano was my first thought. But I do have a favor to ask. Please give us a picture that shows the head/face/top straight on. When you promised an art glass frog I kept scrolling but saw nothing that resembled one. Frogs don't have tails. Or antennas - if that's what you call what looks like three of them, And snails only have two. At least all the snails I ever met.
Is it just me? Is that creature clear to everyone else?

That is one weird snail. Or, that is one weird frog.

Frogs, when in the tadpole stage do have tails, but their bodies don't looks like snails. (actually, they look like minute whales. Thank you Miss Oelrick -- my first grade teacher who had us raising frogs in the back of the room in a huge tank. And turtles. In a sandbox.)

It is a crown, so frog would make more sense.

OK, you did say art glass frog.

Now I “GOTIT” It’s a collaboration of two artists.

    I prefer Miro.

AND, BTW how many glass companies are on the island of Murano?

Hmmm.....I was kinda thinking a strange looking slug until I finally saw the crown! I Love the color green with the gold fleck tho!

Nice, Komo, but there's really no competing with Susan. Thank you very much, Susan.
I've had Murano glass. The controlled bubble ones were welcome. They also have that flair with colors and swirls. Sorry to say, though, that the "art frog" doesn't quite make it, even with that discount.
Thanks, Desperate. I thought about that number but thought maybe there was an official list.

    "Frog/crown = prince..."

Wellll I kissed my share of frogs in my time, but none were this weird looking and none turned into princes. Now dh is a prince, but can't include him in with the frogs. With as many "frogs" as I knew, I guess stumbling on to this one was a cinch, snap!

That page really has very little on IDing the frog. It only says Murano with no help on maker or age. Also are we sure of their Murano knowledge?
