Art folks,help with a signature ?

Hi all. Picked up this 24x20 inch painting at the flea yesterday,like Ive got room for ONE more painting ??? but I fell in love so it had to come home. I think it depicts a winter scene of a field or a marsh,I especially love the little red house . I cant make out the artist and Ive tried every way I can think of. Its my new favorite thing! Any input is always appreciated. I tried this on my FB art board,zero so far.

First name looks like Sini. I found a painter named Sini Anttila-Rodriguez. A few paintings have a slightly similar style but I don't see a signature on any of them. Here is a link.

I was thinking Steve and a surname that starts with either an N or a W.

 

We have a business acquaintance whose name is Sini. I think he's Bulgarian or Macedonian.

 

I don't think I can improve on suggestions for a signature but I did want to comment on the "scene" you see because I see something totally different.

 

Share SiS! I just found out via FB instant messaging ,from the artist himself,this is a painting by Shane Norrie ! He confirmed it was his and he painted it 20 years ago ! I am THRILLED to pieces !

That's really exciting to find the artist! Did you ask him what it is (if anything). I see something burning.

 

No,I forgot to and now I dont want to bug him! You can see cat tails in the front right,so I assume its a river or a marsh. Its much more striking to the naked eye.

 

A good thing about an abstract painting is that you can see what you think you see. You have happier pics in your heads than I do on this one though burning things can be be benign. (One of my spring fires, not what I see on yours exactly)

God do I miss out side fires. It is forbidden to burn anything outside here. When I was a kid everything was burned in a 55 gallon drum. We had no deliveryman to pick it up. So everything got burned even cans and such to keep down on rats and such. Even fields got burned controlled of course by adults.

We only have burn restrictions in the early spring before it greens up when you can't light it until 4pm and have to extinguish by midnight. Most of my big fires this year fell in that timeframe so I starting putting them out about 11pm. (Not cold while burning but freezing by the time they were out...and wet) Oh well, needs doing and look pretty at sunset.
