Featured Art deco ring? M mark. Anybody have a a clue? I don't.

Bought this because I liked it. Paid 50 bucks. The stone seems to be a smoky quartz.

I would like your opinion please.

It has a 925 and M markings.

 

It is a lovely ring, and it looks perfect on your finger.
If you buy jewellery regularly, it may be worth buying a diamond tester. They test other stones, like quartz, too. Here is a thread on them:

What an interesting setting. But not sure style would best be described as art deco.

it's got a bit of the Chrysler Building about it, but it's not old. If you like it and will be wearing it, you did fine.

 

Ha! You are right. It fors resemble the Chrysler building, which I love. Maybe that's why I like it.

Could it be Mexican?

 

The flat back faceted stone is probably from China and just about anyone could have made the ring,Is the "M" mark in the square on the inside left in the top photo as it is too dark to see.

 

Not likely, nothing about it says Mexican, but you never know.

 

Agree, not Mexican. Vaguely "tribal" if anything.
