Hi picked these up at an estate sale awhile back and was wondering if anyone had any info on them. Was told they were possibly in the 39 worlds fair but haven’t been able to prove. By looking at old ads and comparing the logos it looks like they were made around 1937-1938. Thanks! IMG_0353.jpeg IMG_0374.jpeg IMG_0375.jpeg

Yeah I have seen that particular piece before thanks for sharing that site a lot of great pieces on there wish there was more black lacquer pieces to compare. Seems the only other pieces I have found are the same color and hardware but all different pieces of a set as if there was only one set. Have found that desk and a three drawer dresser on 1st dibs. Also unfortunately lost the matching vanity at that sale. :banghead:

Yeah I seen that but when I looked back at all the ads the logo with the deco type scrolling around Kroehler only appeared in 1937 to 1938 ads. It seemed to be different in 1936 and 1939. I’ll try and find them again and post them when I have a minute. Thanks for all the replies everyone!

Black lacquer with gold hardware was more popular in 40's than 30's, so that would be my guess. As for the 39/40 World's Fair, it looks like Kroehler featured Gilbert Rohde's "Honeymoon Furniture" collection. I'm not a big fan of black lacquer but the pulls on those pieces are great.
