It was a very cheap one. It's quite simple, but i liked it so i had to buy it.
My guess is that it's from circa 1930 and the stlye is art deco or maybe eclectic.
Will receive it soon. I will post better images.

    Not Art Deco.
Earlier, round about 1890s. And darn if I can think of the what they call the face.
Someone will come and remember for me.

Definitely not art deco. 1890 on into the early 20th century I would think. Based on classical forms. Scale makes me think lodge or church furniture. Can't see the face motif all that well but maybe clutteredcloset was thinking North Wind or Green Man motif.

Yes, thank you. That was what I couldn't remember yesterday.
I have selective days for brain function. Yesterday wasn't one of them.

    Clutteredcloset49 and Verybrad!

I really respect your opinions, but i have to disagree in this case.
This chair is a very early art deco chair just before 1920.
I asked an expert who is really professional and he's the owner of an antique-shop. He told me it's an early art deco chair.
Plus i asked the previous owner and she told me that before the restoration there was a date on the chair. It was 1917 or 1919, she couldn't remember.
Everything indicates that it was made around 1917-1920 and a very early art deco piece.

I don't necessarily disagree with the date but this is not art deco. You might make a case for secessionist but even that is a stretch IMHO. Think the face is a green man.

You are right, this could be an early or a transition piece. If we look at Art Deco buildings, the early ones often have gargoyles, green men, etc. as well.
