Are these Hawaiian tiki heads?

    Saw this weird and uniquely fun bracelet. Are they Hawaiian tiki heads? It's a bracelet and some are damaged but not very noticeable. Reminds me of the 60s or 70s but I could be wrong!!

    They look like ivory to me!
    Perhaps African, not Hawaiian.

    Yes, I think you are right with it being African! Still haven't seen anything like it online. Perhaps it was a souvenir?

    They are from DR Congo, so yes African, and ivory. Probably made during Belgian rule and around the CITES date, could be before, could be after.

    Here in Belgium you see these now and then. I m pretty sure they were made well into the sixties though... a family member got some items like this one as a souvenir in '65.

    I suspected as much. A lot of Congolese souvenir ivories are post-CITES. Of course there wasn't as much awareness of the agreement then, and it wasn't enforced either.
