    Good Day All

These badly damaged Chinese plates were retained by my Grandmother. I have a matching platter in good condition which guys here identified as a Chinese Canton blue and white export platter of 19C, although there was a little dissension over its age. See my thread posted 15 Dec 2017 here: https://www.antiquers.com/threads/blue-and-white-chinese-looking-platter.23371/

Can anyone advise whether the plates
are worth keeping in view of the damage and bad repair.

Assistance from the experts on here would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

I don't know about values, but your grandmother obviously valued them. The repairs look like 20th century. The experts will be along shortly to tell you what they are. My first thought looking at them was Dutch, but my knowledge of ceramics is rudimentary to say the least.

They are also 19th c Canton blue & white I would keep them, even if they are not valuable...

    Hi,
I would resoak them to remove the yellowed glue and then reglue them. They would look a lot better. I only use removal glue so they are not damaged.

Apparently we have a china restorer who has reasonable rates living not far from here. I may try to get them properly repaired.
