A pair of carved wood wall sculptures came into my possession recently
after several dollars fell out of my wallet. I would imagine they are tourist
decor-ware but I'm interested in the country of origin. Bali-ware??
    Sizes 44-45cm High, 27-31cm Wide, 11-15cm Deep, 1.5-2.3Kg.
    Cheers
    Stephen

Since your in Australia, could they be Aboriginal ? I like the color and simplicity of these.Have you noticed that the sides look like profiles themselves?

Could be something like Tiwi Islanders but unlikely to be mainland Aborigines. Possibly New Guinea or surrounding islands but just not sure. You are right about the side on profiles. Might have something to do with scaring off bad spirits etc..

I agree, not Australian Aboriginal. Not even Tiwi Art, that is painted. And different.
