Anyone know who made this Candy Jar Bell

    I found this candy jar recently but can not find another one after searching. I saw one that is similar but it says Ring For Cookies but mine is not that one and the base on mine is different.

    This has some numbers on the base, 44/6 and underneath the lid is a bell.
    The label that was on the bottom is gone.

    Any help would be appreciated as to maker.

    Hi pearlsblume - anytime I see numbers written like yours on the base I think Japan. American cookie jar manufacturers typically didn't use ink numbers. It could be the missing label is a foil Japan sticker. As such it's going to be difficult to identify a specific manufacturer. I've got some McCoy dog treat jars with a bell in the top. I never need to ring it though. The dog always follows me into the kitchen anyway.

    thanks so much for responding. I also thought it was a Japanese import when I saw those ink numbers.

    Dogs are smart they know where to follow the trail to get the best treats in the house.

    My eye doctor in the 60s had one of these ! And yes,there was a little bell right next to it that you rang after a visit and could take a sucker. I hadn't thought of that in 40+ years !

    Thanks for that link and info UncleChuck. I didn't find any on Etsy that said Ring For Candy, the ones I saw said Ring for Cookies. But maybe I didn't come across what you saw.
