Anyone know what this little Chinese porcelain is?

3.25” wide X 2” tall.

 

I have no idea, but it looks like it should be electrical.

 

My one guess would be a buzzer at a shop or hotel to ring for the bellhop or other employees. Possibly even for a wealthy family calling for their hired help. *shrugs*

 

Some kind of electrical manifold? Multiple outlet? Something electrical.

 

I'm guessing that a button or toggle comes out the end, so some variety of on-off switch? Lights? Bell? Something of that variety.

 

These things exist, so...??

 

Wondering if it can it be date by the design?

called a bell-push. I had a Faberge pink guilloche enamel/jade one a L-O-N-G time ago

 

One set of my Grandparents had similar ones in their house in town. I know they were still there and in use as late as about 1970.

 

Thirded on bell push with those connections.

It's a ceiling light hanging rose.

 

I knew there were rotary light switches to go along with the old tube and knob wiring but I never really looked at DaBay to see how many were actually listed for sale ...pretty impressive ...

WOW, and selling a lot too. None of them come close to the beauty of mine, but alas, mine is missing pieces. Now all I need are the instructions how to fix it,
