We dont believe it's a shoe stretcher because of the way the mechanics work. That was our first thoughts also

I also thought it was something to do with shoes. Maybe a softer shoe like a moccasin or slipper.

SINCE it's mounted, and thinking maybe it might/maybe/should be on a wall, I took the liberty of moving it around for ideas.....might help our befuddled brains?????? (BTW......I've got NUTTIN'!!!!:rolleyes:) Some sort of meat hook??? But only in the left position....obviously!!

Some sort of a hole punch for leather or canvas? It resembles a grommet tool.

I think the picture on the left is the proper orientation.
I also think that it is a punch of sort. Leather as Old Poet Girl suggested makes a lot of sense.

Hello, In the picture on the left, is that the maximum travel downward? Also, do the tabs on the arms limit the travel upward? The arms that pass through the disc/washer , look like pincers, do those open when the arm is raised? Maybe to pull something through, as opposed to punching something out??Still scratching my head over this one!!

I don't think that is possible.
Once something were pulled through how would you get it off the mechanism that did the pulling? The disc is in the way.

Hello, I guess what I am seeing is the arm is at its limit of travel. Does the larger plate on the end with the slots move when the arm moves?
