This mark is on a tin-glazed figurine of a putti or Cupid. Anyone recognize it?

Looks somewhat similar to the Italian Gubbio mark circled in red below...

Yes, it does a bit, Nuff. I'm enquiring for someone else, so I'll pass the info along. Thanks!

It's not mine, Bob, but I'll ask if I can show a pic of the fig.

The figurine was posted to Walter's site and he ID'd as below:

This figurine is not porcelain but rather Terraglia, a clay similar to porcelain but less expensive to process and manufacture. In the 18th century it was very popular in England where it was known as creamware or Queens's Ware. I believe that this putto (singular of putti) was created in the studio of the Cozzi family of Venice in the mid to late 19th century. The company logo was an anchor such as the one seen on the base of your example.

Nice piece, but I confess I was expecting color. Nor did I recognize the mark as an anchor.

(It reminds me of some pieces I had that didn't sell. I wonder if I can find those photos.)

Maybe it was their version of blanc de chine. I didn't recognize the anchor design, but then I'm not all that good at extrapolating designs and symbols.

These are the figures I had, each about 7 ½” tall. They seem to be of the same ilk, but neither had any maker’s mark.

My description has the name "Luigi Zortea" appended to it, but I have no idea where that came from, or how valid it may or may not be.
