I found this V twin engine in the garage of the extreme hoarders clearance last month.

Its in pretty bad shape but was obviously kept for a reason.
Someone suggested it could be a JAP engine (John Alfred Prestwich) but they usually have JAP embossed on the case.

I Googled the engine number 93345 and the first thing that came up was an Indian.

(Edit, its a UK based company so I will email them).

I also found a British log book last updated in 1957 for a 1934 598cc Phelon & Moore single cylinder bike, but its not this one.

I think that every time I walk into my OHs shed. There must be a reason why he keeps all this junk!

Looks like could be for a 1940s Indian Scout 741. Same configuration on this restored version:

The guy in my link replied and confirmed it is a 500cc Indian 741 engine - circa 1942

He has offered me £500 cash and will arrange collection.

Seems fair enough to me

Honestly, since you dont have the frame and dont plan on rebuilding it, 500 euros seems like a perfectly fair price (being this guy is most likely from the US, and will have to pay export/import fees). Now if this was an inline 6 Indian I want to say, youd be looking for a hell of a lot more than 500!
