    Hi All,
I bought this at my Goodwill store in 2017 for $10.00. At first, I thought it was costume, yet I had my doubts. I had it looked at by a gentleman who bought and sold gold. He said it was art deco with 8 rose-cut diamonds. The watch was not working and he offered to have it repaired. I accepted. As an aside, he removed the wristband and promptly dropped it (the band). His place was very unkempt, so I imagine the floor was pretty bad at his feet because he didn't bother to look for it and so he replaced the band. The watch was repaired, I wore it at my son's wedding and it promptly stopped working thereafter. It seems it's been repaired quite often. I can't find any information about Mitot. Can anyone assist? Does anyone see something odd next to one of the signed names or is it just me?

Can you post a picture of the back of the watch movement?

Yes, very few hits on Mitot. The watch you found is a beauty. Nice sleuthing on Vetro! Thank you!

It's a nice watch. I'm guessing that the face plate is gold and the body is gold filled (Note some green near the lugs and wear on the back plate). I see 4 jewels indicating that it may be 10 jewels. Non-adjusted. So, the works are not top notch. Style looks to be 1940's or early 50's. My experience with women's watches of the 40's has been poor, with little resale value or interest. Best use is repurposing or salvage. I prefer the repurposing option.

Thank you for your thoughts on this. I can make out one date to 1936. I paid more for the repair than I did for the purchase and I'm more than likely going to get it repaired one more time. I just love the look and like many of my other vintage purchases, I could not bear to part with them (neither for love or money!)

I did and thank you for sharing. Unfortunately, I was unable to find out anything. I'm happy to own it nonetheless!

Yep, tried them too! I appreciate everyone's enthusiasm and helpfulness. I hope I will be able to return the gesture to others

He said diamond but did he say what the metal was? I would think they would set them in gold, possibly with a platinum front. These hinged deco cases were used by a lot of companies.

Interesting that the movement says MITO rather than MITOT but I couldn’t find anything on that either.

I’ve had luck occasionally with just giving the gear a little push and they sometimes will start working again. If you have it serviced make sure they clean it.

Yes, I did notice the Mito also. Thank you for the watch advice, as soon as I find a repair service, which I expect to be difficult here in the Catskills, I will remember to ask them to clean it as well!
