Anyone have any idea what this is?

Another item at an upcoming auction on liveauctioneers in Freehold NJ - No clue what it is - It had a sharpie looking mark on the bottom which is always suspect - any ideas?

Yes that is the signature thank you! I had some posting issues... Cant tell if is a 10th graders pottery project or something more interesting?

 

Mmm,yes looks like pottery that should have a parental control rating.

 

I have seen it all in person - Very high quality home with some very high end items in the home - Seemed to be a glass collector -there are multiple stained glass windows in the home that are gorgeous. Incredible moldings and wood work around the home. The man was a collector of very high end items for sure. Whether it is all high end I dont know. This piece was apparently very well wrapped and protected prior to unwrapping for auction.

 

Definitely a few things I like. Seems like a bit of a mixture.

 

There are several bronzes that are not listed that are unbelievable.

That one listed bronze is huge

 

Yes there are a few of that type of thing (the large bronze) in the home. Some listed, some not. That is what I was thinking with this piece - that I am missing something but I just dont know where to start. The sharpie marking on the bottom threw me and it does not look old on the bottom.

 

There is a ton of art - Amado Pena prints (just researched that one too) lol. Some interesting old prints. In speaking with the nice folks running the auction, they are not aware of what much of it is. The owner (collector) passed away a few years ago.

 

Egyptian pottery? Native american coil?

 

And the face looks like it is from a doll mold. Hmmm. Perhaps we are leaning toward the 10th grade pottery project.
