    Hi,
Does anyone know what the first name of this designer is? It’s stamped K Young. I think the last letter is a g. Then ky hooked together and 14k. The frosted stuff tests like glass I found it so odd that this was actually 14k but I guess it could be a designer or studio piece.
Any info is very much appreciated. I tried google/google image but that didn’t yield anything.

    Thank you

Beautiful necklace, gauntlett. Can't help you though.
Yes, designers and artists have never been too snobbish to combine base materials with precious metals. There is also gold and rubber jewellery out there, and many other combinations.

Base materials were already combined with precious metals in the Art Nouveau period, and it was popular in Art Deco jewellery as well.
    If it works, it works.;)

No, that's not going to be right. Clearly a jewelry designer.

Thank you! I think it’s kinda cool. They used a lot of gold which was a nice surprise

Artistic art jewelry will put gold or silver with any other materials... Including trash. I have a couple. I went to a few jewelry gallery shows last month. One artist used plastic fruit netting and other trash, in gold rings. Another used aluminum mesh and LEDs with gold. There's a lot of interest in "elevating the unexpected."

I love the craft of mixing precious with everyday, such as glass.

i don't mind it, but it's not really my thing. Uncut stones work though.

I only mind it when they want big prices for cheap materials....but that's the "art" market sometimes.

did Young give an age or remark on the gold used ??

I've asked artists about older works I've had of theirs.....& I've found their memories to be....spotty !
