    Hi all,
Came across these at an estate sale. Anyone know the significance of the case, recognize any of the figures, or have any information on the artist? Im completely unfamiliar with this entire area, so any information at all would be most appreciated. IMG_4298.JPG IMG_4285.JPG IMG_4311.JPG IMG_4305.JPG IMG_4308.JPG IMG_4309.JPG IMG_4304.JPG

    S. Marriott. With all those names an internet search might be helpful.

Sniped! Thanks, INH. That information will limit the search.

I was thinking the name Mariott, and even when I tried to filter out the word "hotel" from google searches, I wasnt able to come up with anything.

I can't read any of the names except "Mike Atkinson." Could/would you provide them or post better quality photographs?

They smaller names are unfortunately written very lightly. I can barely noticed them in person. I took pictures under a darker light just to make them somewhat legible.

This was done back in the days when photographs were not allowed to be taken in courtrooms. But this one is much more detailed than I recall seeing either on TV or in newspapers. Definitely an important case, I would think. S. Marriott must have been the artist with copyright symbol.

Perhaps it was also printed in the press/news papers of the day, to cover an important judicial case? A local library search could assist with locating c1987 press releases. Ooops! I see @Bakersgma as already suggested this.

Might the artist's name be Marrion?

The names are without context. There appears to be one under the judge. Which one is it?

    S. Marriot goes with the first one, but there is another name on the right side of that work

I think Mike adkinson is in the middle of that first one

    Debora,

I have the sketches in storage, but I'll check here in a little bit because I have to go there.

Everyone else, thank you for the suggestions thus far, I am sure going to chase down some of these leads.

I was thinking it says Joe Roddy but now that I've enhanced it, I think it says Loddy or Loddig or something.

If you're of a mind to, you can look back over some cases in Texas by year and by court. Assuming the 1987 was the year, the info might be there. If you click on a case, within each case are the names of some of the parties representing etc.

In one of the sketches that seems to show the full jury, I see only nine people. If this is an accurate depiction, what jury in the U.S. would only require nine people instead of twelve? Does this help with identifying the type of trial occurring here?
