I recently moved into a home and the old owner left these two pieces in the garage. I know they aren't worth much but I'd love to see if anyone knows roughly what year they are and what the story is on them. Also if you know value is like to know that as well. Thanks. [IMG] [IMG]

    Welcome!
    Great photos!
There are still a gizillon of the coffee cabs around full of bolts, nuts and nails.
The gas can the same and probably used for the mower now.

I suspect the Hills Bros. Coffee date from 1952 to 1963. Look at the following *.pdf (Adobe Acrobat) file of "Hills Bros. Coffee Can Chronology Field Guide." Specifically scroll down to Fig. 14 (1952-1963A)and 15 (1952-1963B). In the diagrammed pic of the can look at #62. This means the left shoe is fully visible. Also see how the word "THE" starts under the middle of the logo's shoe. I think the logo is suppose to be an Ethiopian. Fig. 13 has the word "The" starting under the back of the shoe. The numbers are charted below the pics. I can't see enough of the sides of your hmmmm.... can to determine anymore similarities. Can't think of another word for a can **** of this type!

As to the Eagle Mfg. Co. Gasoline Filler can, I suspect this probably dates no earlier than the 1950s??? Here is a listing of completed auctions whether sold or didn't of these on eBay. I don't know if any sold.

I remember both of these. I am sure the chronology variations given by Susan are pretty accurate for the coffee can. I remember these gas cans from the 70s. Note the plastic spout.
