Any information on unusual Sumo wrestlers painting w/Japanese characters?

I found this painting yesterday at a local thrift store (along with a cool horse's head I also posted/asked about)!
I've seen Japanese art before but I think this is the first time I've seen Japanese characters/words in all different directions instead of straight vertical / up & down? What do the words say?
What is the painting about? (almost a surreal sumo painting?)

Is it a woodblock print?

 

I looked with a magnifying glass & it looked like a painting to me. Back is a board or almost cork like look - I'll take a photo of it when I get home.

 

They're like labels. Looks to me like the 3 written in white say the same thing.

 

It is a high end silkscreen print on mulberry paper.
