Was not sure which forum this should go under. Maker's mark and age. I know it has damage that hurts the value but still a nice piece. About 4 years ago I found the mark but it was a dead link. I have searched off and on since. The mark i believe is a lotus blossom. 6" tall. I was going to join an Asian art forum but thought I would try here first. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

Lovely! Looks like Meiji Era (1868-1912) period. I can not see your mark very well but it reminds me of similar pieces by Kumeno Teitaro (Nagoya, 1865-1939).

The leaf form on Ginbari is attributed as Matsu-ya by some, although there isn't much in the way of evidence available that can be easily referenced, so it's not a definite.

It's lovely, but as you know I fear the cracks on they back may prove to be a big problem if you want to sell it :sorry:

I know it is too bad. They are easily toppled over being so light weight and top heavy. I only paid $2.49 at goodwill so there should be some room for profit!
