Any Info please

    The pair with cowie shells look like Asante (Ashanti) Akuaba
    of Ghana Africa.....possibly fertility sculptures? The majority of African carvings I have seen have been new - tourist trade stuff.

    Yes, the two matching dolls with the cowrie shells are simple versions of Akua'ba (they usually have arms). They may or may not be from Ghana - they have become popular subjects for many commercial carvers in West Africa. You can find some basic information on the tradition of Akua'ba here:

    The style of the seated maternity figure (specifically the facial features) looks like it may have been made by a Yoruba carver, from Nigeria. It is interesting that she is modestly dressed. Most traditional figures are minimally clothed.

    I agree that all three were probably made for sale rather than indigenous use.
