Has anyone seen a knife like this? It has a eagle? head handle carved from stone? Bone?
And a blade with no 'Made In ' but does have what looks like a serial number? Or a catalog number?
It is 11" long, very sharp & fits surprisingly comfortably in my hand.
Any help would be greatly appreciated - thank you!

The handle is made of antler. Probably artisan made. The marking may be the maker's initials + date he/she made it.

Maybe an amateur carver?? I'm not seeing any "love" in the carving.......or maybe just didn't finish.......?

Blacksmithing has become very popular again around here anyway. a friend's grandson just competed in the "forge in Fire" show at 17 years old. He sells his handmade knives for $1500 or more! We also have pre 1849 mountain man groups that make hand carved NA style knives for sale at their Rendezvous. This looks like one they would make.

    Geeezz!! That's embarrassing; I didn't think about initials & date - I thought it was B 5 1-93!
Oh Lord take me before I get complete dementia! (that actually worries me; my dad is 91, bought & sold & operated theaters and clubs for decades (still operates 1 night club and has another that's been rented to a couple of retired football players for 15+ years) but lately he is forgetting things, repeating the same stories, etc. His wife just took his keys so my cousin & I take turns driving him to the club when he wants to go).
I apologise again for not seeing/figuring out the date at least! And thank you for the help!
