Hi everyone, can anyone help with the makers/where to start looking for the history of this lamp base. It appears to be Silver-plate on brass - very heavy. Stands 12 inches to the start of the fittings. Belonged to my grandmother so earlier than 1950.

Id guess 1920s . I "think" the RD means its a British lamp, but I could be very wrong.

Hard to say (in my current dilated-eyes condition) what the number is. Can you see whether the njumber is 6 digits or 5 digits long, Melanie?
