    received_10211459205308808.jpeg Hi there,

My first time posting. Trying to find information about this piece that my mom found in her garage. It looks like a coin but it was created by Tiffany &Co.
I can't find ANY information about it online.

It says E•Pluribus•Unum and 1879 on the coin and Tiffany & Co. Sterling on the back.

The whole thing is approximately 2.5" in diameter.

Any ideas on what this could be would be greatly appreciated. If it's worth something my mom could sure use it because she is on social security and unable to place my dad in a facility who is in late stage Alzheimer's.

    Thank you,
    Stephanie W

    it's a morgan silver dollar in a sterling disc.....maybe a paperweight.....
it has value....just not the kind she's needing....

I'm sad to hear of her situation....:(

Thank you. It's a very sad situation. What kind if value do you think it has?

It's hard to say......let's wait for others to authenticate the Tiffany mark.....

Both my grandmothers died from complications of advanced Alzheimers, trust me I KNOW what a nightmare it is to deal with!!

It's a beautiful piece, that's for sure, but silver coins, unless they're something really special, are rarely worth a great deal. I pick them up at my local coin-dealer for a few singles or tens of dollars each.

The TIFFANY thing might help a bit, but I doubt by much.

Hi Stephany, welcome to the forum.
Very sorry to hear about your dad, I know how difficult it can be, not just for him but also for his loved ones, your mom especially.

Tiffany is difficult, there are many fakes. I am no Tiffany expert, but on the Tiffany pieces I've seen, the lettering was very crisp and clean, no sloppy shapes or edges. Maybe it is the picture, but your Tiffany mark seems a bit fuzzy, so to speak, with slightly irregular letters.
Could you photograph the part where the mark is against a white background?

If you're near a city with a Tiffany shop, take it in and ask for it to be cleaned. If it's the real thing, they'll do it. That's an old non jewellery Tiffany mark.

Thank you. Yes it is hard. I realized late last night that my picture of the tiffany lettering was blurry. I will upload better pictures. received_10211459200428686.jpeg
