I can't tell you about the chair other than I love it!!! Love all of the inlay, the design, and especially the rope seat!!!! To me, the whole chair is very appealing to the eye!! Hopefully, @verybrad will be along soon to help in your identification!!!!

Rope certainly looks fairly new. Looks to be an English-style chair to me, probably from somewhere in the 30's or 40's. Just a guess though.

The rope is older than it looks in the photo, it’s quite a small delicate chair so my thoughts are it’s not for everyday use

Where are you, where did you get the chair? "inlay" looks like paint from here, is it?

I have always associated "cord" or rope seating with mid century danish furniture but this isn't that so i dunno, wait for Brad, maybe he will know.

Agree, at first glance one expects caning, not rope.

Hi I’m in the uk, it’s definitely inlay and not painted on, the legs at the back are splayed and curved, not like the front

That last pic that shows a hole in frame indicates this chair probably had a cane seat originally

Quite right. It looks early 20th century to me, although the inlay and splayed back legs are more Victorian.

Can't say I know anything definitive about this one. My best guess is first half of the 20th century some time. The jute seat is unusual and, like James, usually associate it with later MCM Scandinavian furniture. Would make more sense to see this having cane so, if there are multiple holes under the jute, agree that the seat is a replacement.
