Any ideas on age on this spelter figurine?

Hi I know these spelter figurines were made from the late 1800s all the way through to modern times with what seems to be the height of their popularity in the early 20th century. I think.

Does anyone have any idea how old this particular one is?
There is age in the wood and the screw and nut but it doesn't seem like an extremely old thing. Could even be post-war I really don't know does anyone have any clues?

It's 'the writer' and I think it used to have a pen in his hand which is now broken off.

    Thanks

Think it is 'writing', i.e., literature, rather than 'the writer'. It's an allegorical figure. What are the words on the tablet? Think I see 'sagesse', wisdom, in the middle but can't make out the other two.

I don't see how both birth dates can be true, but gives you an idea when his earliest work might have been done, so replicas sometime later.

    Yes this would be a replica. I feel it's 1940s but I don't know.

My idle guess would be older because of the wooden, faux painted base and the square nut.

So the wooden bases in faux marble were an older thing?

I found this one on French eBay that looks very similar. Not as bright as yours, though. Although perhaps it is the lighting that is darker. The base is also cracked, but in different places than the base on yours is. And it appears to have the same label. The seller does not give much information about it.

That one I'm sure is exactly the same.
By that I mean it's not the exact same piace but it's the same edition, even suffering from similar cracking issues in a similar area.
Also missing a pencil or a pen or maybe it never had one.
I don't know French but it looks to me like the seller is saying that it's 19th century?

Would be good to get some more definitive advice about age.

I don't know French, either, but... I think so.

But an eBay seller can say whatever they want. Would be good to find out more information about how to date these spelter statues as I do quite like them and they do come up from time to time
