Any idea on where/when this little carving came from?

Looks like it could have some legit age. Came out of one of the most fantastic estates I’ve ever seen. Prominent old family. This was in the cast off, “discovery” part of the auction tossed in with some other items in a box. It’s a little simple but I think pretty well done. Not sure what type of wood it is. Looks like a pretty particular hat. Not signed of marked. Looks more European than anything else to me but I’m not super confident on that.

 

Polynesia perhaps. Rapanui.

 

Yeh I can’t find one that looks a ton like this but there’s enough similarities in form that I’ll put it at the top of the likely suspect list!
