I have no idea..but curious if any of you might? I am going to an auction this weekend and have my eyes on this piece? What do you think? old designer, unsigned?

    is this haskell.jpg

I did have a Haskell piece once with those (for lack of a better term) double helix wicker or straw beads. I have some reservations about this piece though. I suppose there is a chance it is Haskell but may equally be a knock-off. I do think vintage (1960's). I think most of Haskell pieces were signed by then but could be wrong or possibly a tag has gone missing. However, in my opinion this would not be a great resale item. Can elaborate if you want.

It also appears to have lost some of its color from fading which would affect value. (Or perhaps just the photograph?)

Whether Haskell or not, these straw beads are prone to drying out over time. These do look possibly faded.

Thanks. I haven't viewed it in person. But attending the auction this weekend. Will check it out. The estate is packed full of extremely old things. .very old established neighborhood so will see. .lots of other old pieces of jewelry as well. I've found my fair share of haskell over the years and made some money on them. ..they were all signed. I don't know about this one until I see it.

Oh and thanks for the link to cathys site. Use to be on that regularly in 2008...but due to health issues, stepped away for a while.

And if not Haskell, who else made jewelry like this?

UPDATE: So I bought the necklace. Not faded, it was the lighting from their camera. Its a mauve color with beautiful cloudy pink glass beads that have a bit of an iridescence to them. Has a fold over clasp but no signature. My calling was definitely not photography..

Any idea who might have made this type of jewelry? I was attempting to research but have no idea what search words to used, attempted double helix necklace and got metal ones. Not even sure what this is made out of. HELP!

There are a couple like it listed for sale as unsigned Haskell. If you search for Haskell raffia you should find them of course it's not proof of anything. If all else fail you might ask the sellers why they think they're Haskell.
