Any Guesses on Origin of Spongeware Egg Cup?

    Hello Board Friends - I picked up what I think is an egg cup. It measures 2 1/2" tall and 1 3/4" across the opening. Searching spongeware egg cup hasn't turned anything similar up so I'm kind of stuck. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you so much!

    Looks like Spongeware. If not American certainly British.

    I'm sorry I didn't thank you folks earlier. Somehow lost track of this thread. Will research as suggested. It is adorable and will probably find its way into one of my cabinets.
