Featured Antique silver spoon.

Hello everyone. One more spoon. That spoon has interesting hallmarks to me.Maybe to someone too. Made in Germany, city -Königsberg and ''FW''-tax mark used 1809-1812 y.. That is initials stand for King Friedrich Wilhelm.. Thank you.

 

FW is a mark used under Friedrich Wilhelm III. to mark items that the people wanted to keep and not give to the state to pay the war debts to France; they had to pay a tax to keep their stuff.
the most intereseting part is the small mark that could be from Elbogen (then Austrian part of Bohemia, today Loket).

 

Iouri, this spoon is also by someone named Zimmermann. Since there is no initial, I don't know if it is the same Zimmermann, but it certainly could be the same company, given the font and location.
As you said, it bears the Königsberg mark.

 

Koenigsberg maker Johann Gottlieb Zimmermann II (b.1768, d.1831) - the 'V' is the date letter for 1807.

It is from a region with a very complex history.

 

This is a beautiful region with an interesting history, many years ago I was there, I liked it there.
